Rainstorm
Though the monsoon rains this summer were dangerous and detrimental, they were also beautiful and awe-inspiring. Here’s what happened on August 21st …

We had a small brood (6) of ducklings this summer. In their early days, they were excellent at follow-the-leader.

A Little Chapel Music
We are extremely blessed to have been given a generous gift of a Yamaha keyboard. The sound is quite amazing, even in our little chapel. Here Sr. Helena Marie plays a cello piece as a postlude.

Dining at the Bluestone Avian Cafe
At the height of “the season” (which would be winter), the Avian Cafe is busy. The cardinal pairs visit every day, and usually two or three times every day. No wonder they look so healthy …

East Indian Pizza
Nearly every Saturday we make pizza. The idea was borrowed from Barbara Kingsolver and her family — we, too, create taste delights from whatever is on hand. Since we grow nearly all our own food, the options are rich. Here is a little video of our East Indian Pizza, which uses a dough recipe for 5-minute artisan bread, a curry sauce as the base, chopped and lightly steamed Candy Roaster squash, broccoli, caramelized onions and paneer (a milk cheese made earlier in the day, marinated and fried). Topped with our own BFLC Boldog paprika, it was delicious!

A Walk in the Woods

Bill should be our “roving” correspondent. Great winter tour of the pond and hermitage!
Way cool! Bill, the sound of the little waterfall was amazing!
Great tour, thanks. CJ
Congratulations on a great first video! I’ll be looking forward to seeing more. SH

[...] And I use the same dough every Saturday night, when we use whatever is available — leftovers, frozen or dried goodies from last gardening season, winter root crops — to make pizza. (Wanna watch? See our East Indian Pizza video clip on CHS Video Theater.) [...]
Wonderful videos! Thanks for the reminders to slow down, to appreciate, to notice- music, birds, unique foods and snow filled woods
Enjoyed the videos and especially loved the snow – birds.
Thank you especially for the birds. Reminded me of my father of blessed memory whose major occupation before he died was to watch and feed cardinals and tit mice.
